There is not set amount of money you need to get started.

In an ideal situation, if you have $1,000 set aside to use as your bankroll after you join Platinum - that will be a decent starting balance to get the ball rolling.

If you have more than this, say $3,000-$5,000, then you will have more flexibility to begin with. This will allow you to capitalise on more opportunities earlier on (open up more bookies, get more deposit offers, use more on-going promotions) and you will therefore progress faster than someone who starts with only $1000.

However, you can also start with $0. Get into Platinum, learn everything there is to learn, and then once you get your hands on more capital (through your salary), you can then allocate this to actually placing bets and you'll have the head start of already knowing all the content.

In fact, it can actually be beneficial to know NOTHING about sport, horses or betting.
WHY?
Generally speaking, people believe that in order to "profit on the punt" - you need to "know a bit about AFL, or NRL, or horses". Funnily enough, it's this very reason as to why these people lose whilst gambling - because they actually think they know more than they do. This means they are more likely to bet on things that "they have a feeling about", or "my friend's dad's brother is the trainer and has some inside information".
The reality is, all that shit, is nonsense.

All we do here is place bets, in a very strategic and mathematical way. So the less bias you bring in to this space (by thinking you know more than you do), the more likely you are to succeed because you have a higher chance of sticking 100% to the methods outlined, and not wavering based on what you "think" will happen.

The only caveat to all this - it can be beneficial if you have placed bets before because then you will be more familiar with the betting platforms and you wont therefore need to learn how to actually place bets. Matched Betting has been around for years and will continue to exist as long as the bookies keep offering promotions.

You are doing nothing illegal when you Matched Bet. You are simply placing bets, in a very strategic way, that means in the long term, you are going to profit.

You place the same type of bets that general gamblers do, you just do it in a very calculated and mathematical way.

There's nothing illegal about maths.

Getting banned by the bookies means 2 things.

1. You no longer are offered any ongoing promotions by that bookie (meaning that the account is far less valuable to you).

2. You withdraw your money/profits in that bookie and move on.

Getting banned is a normal part of Matched Betting.

The KEY however, is to limit the chance of getting banned and therefore increase the life of each individual account.

If you can keep an account open for 2 years as opposed to 2 weeks (what rookies do), you will make A LOT more money.
